Blandford Torch Group |

Dear All, The Blandford Torch Group has been given the remit by the London Olympic Organising Committee of the Olympic Games (LOCOG) to manage the journey of the torch through Blandford Forum as a recognised “community en route” for the Olympic Flame.The Olympic Flame is going to be passing through the town for no more than half an hour on the late morning of Thursday 12th July 2012. Initial planning meetings have been held and we have agreed that this is a wonderful opportunity to put Blandford Forum on the map. We want to involve every single aspect of the community in this event. We are therefore asking everybody who wants to be involved in this once in a life time event to let us know in order for us to co-ordinate what will be an important occasion in the town. Please could you register your interest by emailing blandfordtorch@blandfordforum-tc.gov.uk by 31 January 2012. We will send you all the information as and when it becomes available. We want this good news to reach every corner of the community, so please pass this email on to as many individuals and community groups with which you have contact.
